Science Project/Presentations

posted Oct 12, 2018, 7:30 AM by Annette Cross

PARENTS - Science classes are currently learning about the value, impact and science of renewable energy.  Scot Sweeney, Vermont District Manager for LGCY Power - Sunrun, will be coming to NCUJHS to do presentations for our students on Wednesday, October 17 and on Thursday, October 18.  Scot is an expert in residential solar.  More than the traditional purchase or lease options, Scot offers a true no cost solar program where people don't pay for the panels or installation - they simply pay much less for their electricity using the clean energy from the sun.  Scot will also do a presentation for parents and students on Thursday, October 18 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. in the NCUJHS library, which will include options for possible savings in power consumption and cost.  Please ask your student about what he/she has learned in regarding to renewable energy.  If you can't make the informative session on October 18, you can contact Scott Sweeney directly by calling 802-363-5515 or email him at scotsweeney@lgcypower.com.

All NCUJHS students planning on trying out for the school’s soccer teams and participating on the cross country running team are reminded to complete the sports participation packet. The sports’ participation packets can be picked up in the main office or downloaded from the school’s website under the Athletics tab. Click on Forms located on the left side of the page to access the forms.  All students and parents are responsible for completing the proper paperwork before the Tuesday Sept. 4th tryouts. Included in the packet is a yearly wellness exam, a signed code of conduct, proof of insurance, and concussion forms. All paperwork must be given to the school nurse for review prior to practicing on Tuesday Sept. 4th.  There are no exceptions.  Please help your child start their NCUJHS athletic experience on a positive note by completing all the required paperwork prior to starting practice.

Practices are scheduled daily from 3:30 - 5:00. Parents are expected to promptly pick their child up at 5:00. There will be a non-stop shuttle bus connecting to the high school’s activity bus departing NCUJHS at 5:10. The high school’s activity bus will deliver students around the district, but is not a door to door service. If you have further questions contact Athletic Director John Gunn at 766-2276 ext. 5127.
